From Heartbreak to Healing: Adrienne Lecoure's Journey of Faith
At the 2026 Walk for Life, Adrienne Lecoure shared a deeply personal testimony of heartbreak, healing, and the transforming power of God's mercy. Her story is a reminder that no one is beyond the reach of God's love.
For much of her adult life, Adrienne Lecoure believed that fulfillment would come through independence, professional success, and the freedom to live life entirely on her own terms.
As a successful yoga teacher, she traveled the world, led retreats, and built a career centered on wellness and personal empowerment. Yet beneath those accomplishments, she felt an emptiness she could not explain.
In December 2019, while living and working abroad, Adrienne faced an unexpected pregnancy. Believing that becoming a mother would jeopardize the life and career she had built, she chose to have an abortion.
What followed was a period of profound grief.
For years, Adrienne struggled to understand the emotional pain she experienced following that decision. Despite her extensive background studying trauma and healing, she found herself unable to reconcile her feelings or find lasting peace.
She sought answers through therapy, spiritual practices, and other avenues, but the heartache remained.
Five years passed before Adrienne began to confront the source of her grief. In the sixth year, she attended a Rachel's Vineyard retreat, a ministry offering spiritual and emotional healing for those affected by abortion.
It was there that her journey took an unexpected turn.
For the first time, Adrienne encountered other women willing to share experiences similar to her own. She listened to their stories, witnessed their tears, and discovered that she was not alone.
But what affected her most was the compassion she received.
Women she had once assumed would judge or condemn her instead welcomed her with kindness. Volunteers made prayer shawls, offered rosaries, and wrote encouraging notes. Members of the parish community spent hours praying before the Blessed Sacrament for the women attending the retreat.
Through these simple acts of love, Adrienne began to experience something she had long struggled to believe was possible: God's mercy.
The retreat became a turning point in her life. She began to understand that acknowledging her grief did not mean she was beyond forgiveness. Instead, it opened her heart to the healing grace of Christ.
As her faith deepened, Adrienne found inspiration in the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Reflecting on the Annunciation, she came to see Mary's willingness to trust God's plan as an example of extraordinary courage and freedom. Mary's yes became a model for Adrienne's own desire to surrender her life to God's will.
Today, Adrienne shares her testimony in the hope that others who carry hidden grief will find the courage to seek healing. She understands how difficult it can be to speak openly about painful experiences, especially when accompanied by shame, fear, or the expectation of judgment.
Her message is ultimately one of compassion: that genuine encounters with Christ begin not with condemnation, but with love, mercy, and a willingness to walk alongside those who are hurting.
At the Walk for Life, Adrienne reminded those gathered that a personal story can sometimes reach a heart in ways that arguments and statistics cannot.
Her own transformation began when others shared their pain and extended God's love to her.
Now, through the sharing of her own story, she hopes to offer that same invitation to someone else.
Adrienne's journey is a testament to the healing power of God's mercy and the profound difference that compassion, prayer, and Christian community can make in a person's life.
